About Sarah
The heart of LinguaSarah
Sarah… a woman who carries the Euphrates in her heartbeat and Damascus in her soul.
"Language is the bridge that connects hearts."
Sarah was born and raised in a city on the banks of the Euphrates River in Syria, surrounded by Syria's rich history and warm culture. From an early age she nurtured a deep passion for language: her mother tongue, Arabic, as well as the language of the people around her. Her personality was shaped by the warmth of the people, the purity of the dialect and the authenticity of a land that gave her both strength and simplicity. Her roots run deep in the soil of the Euphrates and her local dialect has always remained closest to Classical Arabic: rich in eloquence, melodious in sound and refined without any artificiality.
The Euphrates dialect is considered one of the most distinctive and beautiful Syrian dialects. It is characterised by the simplicity of its people, their spontaneous nature and their innate artistic spirit — from the elegant recitation of poetry to the creative thinking visible in every detail of their speech and presence. Moreover, linguists often view the Euphrates dialect as one that, in certain respects, stands closer to Classical Arabic. This is because it has preserved various clear sounds and grammatical structures, while some urban dialects have over the centuries lost or simplified many of their original phonetic features. Yet this dialect, with all its cultural richness and unique heritage, never received the appreciation it deserved during the era of the former regime between 1971 and 2024.
Sarah grew up with a deep passion for the Arabic language and the rich diversity of Syrian culture, until she turned that passion into her mission. With over four years of experience teaching the Arabic language and later in the world of translation, she was able to bring the language closer to people’s hearts, through a warm style in which knowledge and love harmoniously come together.
Sarah says:
During the journey that the war imposed on me, I eventually found my way to the Netherlands — a country that touched my soul more than I had ever expected. In the simplicity of daily life, the tranquillity of the cities, the beauty of nature present everywhere, and the hospitality and openness of the people, I recognised something of my first home. As if distances, however great they may be, sometimes lead us to places where the heart once again finds a sense of familiarity, security and belonging.
Over the years this feeling grew into a deep bond. The Netherlands was no longer merely a stop on a journey shaped by circumstance, but a second home that embraced my dreams and gave me the space to grow, to learn and to build a new life. Here I discovered that belonging does not always arise in the place where one is born, but sometimes precisely in the place that opens its doors to us and grants us the freedom to be ourselves.
I am not merely a language teacher, but a voice that carries the identity of my country wherever it goes. My roots reach to the banks of the Euphrates and the rhythm of my heart flows with its waters. And the Netherlands — the country that gave me a new beginning — has grown into a cherished part of my life’s story: a place I carry in my heart with sincere gratitude and affection
